    ABOUT

    A brief biography
It became clear to me that Health and Fitness would be my destiny.  Not just to “get fit” but to
    “TEACH FIT.”

My name is Suanne Rieker and I LOVE WHAT I DO!

After giving birth to my daughter in 1975 I could hardly walk. Spinal Spondylolisthesis was my
diagnosis.  In 1980, after many failed attempts at exercise, I was able to establish my own fitness
program by lifting weights. By stabilizing my spine, I could train each muscle group safely.
Unfortunately, my vertebrae would still slip forward during any attempt at cardio, putting me flat on
my back. Being a widow with a small daughter I could not afford to be laid up.

In 1982 I had a spinal fusion  and after eight weeks flat and three months in a brace I began a
walking program. I read books on training and nutrition, lost 60 pounds and with my new “stable
spine,” got certified to teach aerobics.  I have been running since the age of 38…because I can.  I
have been a Personal Trainer for close to 30 years. I’m a former YMCA Physical Director and since
1998, I've been the owner of a personal training studio.

After many years of training high school athletes and adults, I now focus all my energy into training
women.  FITNESS CHANGED MY LIFE! I found a career and met my husband in a gym. I teach and
preach to whomever will listen so they, too, can enjoy living a healthy lifestyle.

    Trainer’s Creed
I am a trainer, educated to teach you how to live a more active life and take the safest and
smartest route to a healthy lifestyle. I am not a doctor, a dietitian, a psychologist or physical
therapist. I am a trainer, educated to instill the correct exercise techniques and programs.
    Therefore:
    • As a trainer, I can help you and inspire you, but I cannot cure you.
    • As a trainer, I can provide a solid foundation for you, but I cannot make you happier, thinner or
    perfect.
    • As a trainer, I can give you proper education but I cannot do the work for you.
    • As a trainer, I can encourage you and challenge you but I cannot prevent the natural peaks and
    valleys of your fitness journey.
    • As I trainer, I can walk you through the process, but I can’t guarantee it will be easier.
    • As a trainer, I can believe in you but you must believe in yourself.
    • As a trainer, I can hope for years of active living, but only you can choose to be active.
    • As a trainer I can make you stronger, but I can’t make you indestructible.
    • As a trainer, I can hope that your success will inspire other’s success, but you must believe
    success is possible.
    • As a trainer, I can give you the best of my experience, knowledge and encouragement but in the
end, it is you, my client, who must decide and commit to living the life that I know is possible for you.
    • As I trainer, I know that only you can make it happen; only you can open yourself up to the
realities of healthy living and allow yourself to be inspired. I am privileged everyday to inspire you
to be fit. My profession is my passion and my purpose.

    My Mission Statement
To provide knowledge, guidance, support, safety and a promise to TEACH my clients lifelong
training techniques so they can achieve their goals.
